Pilates and Yoga Classes

Both ​Pilates and Yoga classes are multi level and last for 60 mins. 
I give options to keep exercises basic or by some minor adjustments, to make them much more challenging.   

You work at the right level for YOU !

Equipment for Pilates:

We use our own mats, head cushions, balls, bands, and rollers ... as additional equipment to make some exercises more challenging or interesting  ... however, most exercises you can do without, it is up to you.

Equipment for Yoga:

Please bring your mats, own blocks, bands if you would like to use these.

Since Covid, we now use all our own equipment.  So please bring mats, head cushions, balls, bands etc with you.

Zoom - can be booked as individual classes, or payable as a block.

If you cant make a zoom, you can carry the credit forward.

LIVE classes - are all COURSES (paid for as a block of lessons).

If you cannot make a live class, you can come to another live class, within the time of that particular course, (if I feel it is suitable for you);  or have a recording which you can do at home anytime over 7 days, as many times as you wish.  As long as it is suitable for you.

REFUNDS:   No refunds for illness, or holidays.   As you can normally do a catch up class, or have a recording.

Pilates is a body conditioning method developed by Joseph Pilates that targets deep postural muscles to encourage correct movement patterns, alignment and muscle balance.    It aims to develop your body awareness, improve your posture and integrate your mind and body.

Pilates focuses on elongating, stretching and strengthening the whole body to improve muscle strength, balance, flexibility and posture. Classes will focus on specific areas individually, whilst using exercises which integrate the whole body to re-educate and restore it to optimum muscular and skeletal function – it is this holistic approach that sets Pilates apart from many other forms of exercise. Chiropractors, osteopaths, physiotherapists and GPs recommend Pilates as being one of the safest forms of exercise, and indeed one of the most beneficial for everyone regardless of age and fitness level.

One of the best things about the Pilates method is that it works so well for a wide range of people. Whether you are wanting to get back into shape after having a baby, recovering from an injury or illness, have a back problem, whether you are young or old, very fit or have done very little exercise in the past - Pilates is a great form of exercise for you. All the exercises are developed with modifications that will make them safe and challenging for a person at any fitness level.

Core strength is the foundation of Pilates exercise. The core muscles are the deep, internal muscles of the abdomen and back. When the core muscles are strong and doing their job, as they are trained to do in Pilates, they work in tandem with the more superficial muscles of the trunk to support the spine and movement.

As you develop your core strength you develop stability throughout your entire torso. This is one of the ways Pilates helps people overcome back pain. As the trunk is properly stabilised, pressure on the back is relieved and the body is able to move freely and efficiently.

Pamela runs regular Mat Pilates classes in the Naphill area  (Prestwood, Naphill, Little Kingshill, and Great Kingshill) and also offers private one-to-one Pilates sessions.

In her spare time Pamela enjoys walking with her 3 dogs,  gardening, dancing, skiing and diving.

REFUND  POLICY

LIVE COURSES   All fees for LIVE courses are NON REFUNDABLE, however this is at the discretion of "Pilates with Pamela"..... so depending on the circumstances.      If you are sick, or on holiday - no refunds, so sorry.

If you miss a class, you can come to another live class if there is availability (and if time works for you), or receive a recording of that weeks class. 

ZOOM    If not able to make a zoom booking, please talk with Pamela, for credit to be carried forward.

Recordings:  If you are on hols or sick, I can arrange for a recording to be sent to you, when you are well, so you can do the class when able.

If you need to book a taster session, before committing to a class, please contact Pamela for more info.

Qualifications

2002      Having developed an interest in massage, Pamela qualified as a

              Massage Therapist in Swedish Massage (VTCT) in 2002. 

2010      She went on to further develop her skills by qualifying with a

              Diploma in Sports Massage (ITEC) in July 2010.

2010      Pamela has extended her massage skills by training in

              Seated Back Massage with Acupressure (Diploma) in October 2010.

2015      In March 2015, Pamela qualified as a Level 3 Pilates instructor

               and also a member of REP’s (Register of Exercise Professionals).  

2019       In September 2019, Pamela qualified as a Level 3 Yoga Instructor.

2021       Pamela also achieved The John Gibbons Body Master certificate in

               The Vital Shoulder Complex Masterclass in May 2021.

LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE  
Amazingly relaxing massage.

Lymphatic drainage is a specialised, gentle type of medical massage. It may be used as part of your lymphoedema treatment. The aim is to encourage the lymph fluid to move away from the swollen area, so it can drain normally. It also helps lymph fluid drain through the healthy lymph vessels.  Speeds up the natural process, making it 20 times faster !!

Having seen Pamela's Massage Therapy service advertised on one of the local Facebook pages, I contacted her as I was experiencing terrible pain in between my shoulder blades. When I arrived for the appointment, Pamela asked some pertinent questions on the discomfort I was experiencing and she already knew what type of massage would work for me, so whole process was really quite straightforward.

Pamela knew exactly what pressure points to focus on and she really took her time to work her way through painful areas, always making sure I was comfortable and relaxed.

Pamela's room is very clean and cosy, and calming, holistic music is played in the background. I had a one-hour session and can honestly say this was one of the best back massages I have ever had.
